Private Pilot License (PPL)

The Private Pilot License (PPL) is your foundation. You’ll learn takeoffs, landings, navigation, weather, and airspace, along with essential decision-making skills.
Eligibility
Training can begin at any age, Minimum age to solo 16, Minimum age for license 17, U.S. citizenship or TSA approval, FAA medical certificate
Flight Time
Minimum 40 hours total (typically 60–70).
Privileges
Fly for personal, non-commercial purposes with family and friends.

Instrument Rating (IR)
Advance your flying skills and confidence. Learn to navigate safely with no visibility and challenging weather conditions.

The Instrument Rating (IR) builds precision, safety, and professionalism — giving you the ability to fly safely by reference to instruments alone.
Eligibility
Private Pilot Certificate, current medical
Flight Time
Minimum 40 hours of instrument time, including 15 with an instructor
Privileges
Operate under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), fly through clouds, and handle a wider range of weather safely.
Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

Eligibility

Minimum 250 total hours (including cross-country, night, and complex aircraft).
